The Function of Natural Law. "We are normal in every respect. There are no sins here." — Participant in a Washington, D.C. "gay rights" march.[1] Overview. Christian activists who oppose abortion, contraception, pornography, and homosexuality know that their beliefs are not only supported by Scripture, but by natural law as well. Natural law manifests itself in each person's God-given ability to distinguish between right and wrong from God's point of view. Natural law has rules that are set by nature, which in turn was created by God. These rules exist everywhere, and disruption, happiness and confusion always occurs whenever they are violated. The positive laws of Western societies conflict more and more with the natural law, leading to an increasing degree of chaos in the world today. Since God is logical, Christianity is logical. God created mankind, and so He knows what is good for us and what is bad for us. He gave us the Ten Commandments as a simple guide to establishing a livable and viable society. Further guidance in the Bible elaborates upon these laws. In other words, God has given us basic laws and His Church to assist in the survival of the human race. Those who ignore these laws not only injure themselves, they contribute to the accelerated demise of entire nations, as history has proven time and time again. Those who live a truly Christian lifestyle find themselves with much greater inner peace and contentment than those who only maintain the appearance of Christianity, and are certainly much happier than those who have strayed from the natural law given to us by God. As Father Paul Marx, the founder of Human Life International, says, "God always forgives, man sometimes, but nature never." Moral Traveling. In order to pull people out of sin and save their souls, Christians must journey to where the unchurched reside in a spiritual sense, while taking extreme care not to be caught up in sin themselves. We cannot expect hardened sinners to come to us, because they have already decisively rejected our value system and see no purpose in defending their decisions. They have lost their moral compass and their self-discipline, and are determinedly wallowing in self-indulgence and sin. In other words, they have no desire to change or reform themselves. Christian activists and secularists speak entirely different languages, based upon radically different worldviews. They frame the debate over moral issues in different terminologies. Secular activists insist that they have a logical and rational nature.[2] They do not believe in anything beyond the narrow sphere of their senses, and so reject all religion, including Christianity. In their view, there is no Heaven and there is no Hell, and so our time on earth is all we have. Therefore, in order to make progress in saving souls, Christian activists must debate from the secularist point of view, confident in the fact that natural law parallels God's law in all of its important details. Ultimately, the God Who creates is the God Who reveals. The Three Basic Questions. The primary questions regarding the examination of any moral or social issue from a secularist point of view can be summed up by the famous "Four-Way Test;" (1) Is it the truth? (2) Is it fair to all concerned? (3) Will it build goodwill and better friendship? (4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned? The fatal weakness of this test, of course, is that terms such as "truth," "fair" and "beneficial" are very rubbery and flexible. For example, secularists often build a strange moral framework within which "truth" is anything they want to believe — i.e., many homophiles continue to insist, in the face of all evidence to the contrary, that ten percent of any large population is "gay." Additionally, homophiles usually completely disregard what is "fair" or "beneficial" to anyone who does not subscribe to their philosophy. Debating the Homophile: The Two Approaches. The pro-family activist can effectively debate a homophile in two ways. He can either make the first move, or allow the homophile to initiate the discussion and then respond. The activist may decide to approach a homophile on a particular issue by initiating a chain of logical arguments, as Jesus often did when answering His questioners. Under these conditions, if a pro-family person uses hard evidence and statistics (not mere opinion or anecdotal evidence) to justify his position that homosexuality is damaging to freedom and to individual and societal health, the homophile will most likely ignore the evidence and continue his practices regardless. This is because, when a pro-family activist approaches a homophile to discuss an issue, the homophile does not need to defend himself or even explain the logic that underpins his beliefs, because the pro-family activist has taken the initiative. The second method is far more effective. In this approach, the pro-family activist takes the responsive (defensive) position initially and entices the homophile into presenting his own evidence to show that homosexuality is beneficial to society and freedom — and if the activist then calmly and decisively points out the obvious fallacies in his evidence — the homophile will be left with only two possible courses of action: To continue the debate or to admit that his beliefs are based upon faulty data. If the homophile refuses both options, and instead walks away or simply asserts that he will not be convinced, the pro-family person can point out that he is certainly not the open-minded "freethinker" that he proclaims himself to be, a statement which will cut to the heart of a true secularist. Why Is Homosexual Behavior Wrong? Introduction. Pro-family activists are often confronted with the question: "Why do you think homosexuality is wrong? After all, it is just another permutation of the infinite variety of human love!" When confronted with this question, Christians tend to become distinctly uneasy. Homosexuality is a very uncomfortable subject, and the average Christian does not know much about it, although he may have a few vague notions about it that may mildly disturb or disgust him. He may not reply to the question for fear of appearing ignorant, judgmental, or "unenlightened." If the inquirer is another Christian (and, more specifically, one who believes in the inerrancy of the Bible), then there is really no problem. Chapter 7 shows many Scripture passages in both the New and the Old Testaments that very explicitly condemn homosexual practices. If the questioner is a secularist, or a self-described 'Christian' who does not believe in what the Bible has to say about homosexuality, then this question must be answered with very concise and logical reasoning. It is not a difficult question to answer, but it needs to be analyzed and prepared for ahead of time so that the Christian can have a logical and coherent response ready. Debating the morality of homosexuality demands that the Christian think out his position carefully ahead of time. This will give him courage and confidence. Judge the Sin, Not the Sinner. To begin with, Christians must recognize that a homosexual orientation, whether it is genetic or acquired, cannot be sinful in and of itself. Homosexual urges are similar to other human weaknesses, in that they constitute an unnatural and unhealthy manifestation of our fallen nature, like an excessive desire for sex, drugs, or excessive food and alcohol. It is quite possible that the Lord Himself gives such crosses to people in order to test their resistance to sin. We are certainly more worthy in God's eyes if we confront our weaknesses and, through His grace, defeat them. Homosexual desires will only cause damage to a person's soul if he caves in and acts on his impulses, in the same manner that an alcoholic does no damage to himself until he begins to drink. In truth, homosexuals who are chaste and who successfully struggle against their urges through a lifetime of self-discipline carry a very heavy cross indeed, and we should admire them. So the simple fact that someone has a homosexual orientation is not "bad." Ten Reasons. There are ten logical reasons why the "gay rights" movement in general and homosexual activities in particular present extreme dangers to individual and societal health and freedom. These are listed below and are briefly summarized in the following paragraphs. These principles are described in detail in the referenced chapters of this book. Anyone who wants to debate the "gay rights" issue intelligently should carefully study the complete text of Chapters 2 to 8. The "gay rights" movement is; (1) (2) Predatory (Chapter 4). (3) Coercive (Chapter 4). (4) Tramples the rights of others (Chapter 4). (5) Extremely violent in nature (Chapter 4). (6) Enables and reinforces addictive behaviors (Chapter 2). (7) Degrades society (Chapter 4). (8) Does not protect a legal minority. (9) Is unnecessary in a democracy (Chapter 3). (10) Is unbiblical and, indeed, actually antithetical to Christianity (Chapter 3). Why We Must Oppose the "Gay Rights" Movement. Introduction. At first glance, it may seem that Christians and other people of good will should support equality for homosexuals, because Christ taught us that we should recognize the equal dignity of all human beings. When considering this point, we cannot be superficial thinkers. To be sure, all human beings deserve our love and respect simply because they are human beings, regardless of whether they are a law-abiding citizen or a murderer, homosexual or "straight," male or female. However, when we examine the "gay" agenda in detail, we find that it is not just agitating for equality, because homosexuals already possess equality under the laws of the United States. As this book will show, the militant "gay" agenda is a clear threat because it demands a superior position in our society. This is the difference between homosexual rights and "gay rights." All homosexuals deserve the same basic rights that everyone else possesses. But those who espouse "gay rights" go much further and demand rights that do not proceed from natural law. "Gays" assert that they must be allowed marriage, inheritance, and adoption rights, as well as the "right" to be unopposed in the public sphere, based entirely on their sexual inclinations and practices. It is essential that we oppose the so-called "gay rights" movement. It not only represents a clear threat to public health and safety, it has proven that it will ruthlessly crush even those who oppose its immorality in good faith, as shown in Chapter 4. In other words, it is an extreme danger to democracy and the free expression of ideas. The following paragraphs briefly describe the primary threats posed by the "gay rights" movement. (1) The "Gay Rights" Movement Is a Public Health Disaster. From a practical standpoint, any rational person who is concerned with public or individual health must oppose any activity that significantly and adversely affects the health of a large group of people, such as smoking, drunk driving, or illegal hard drug use. The greatest physical public health threat posed by the radical homosexual "rights" movement is the fact that it is the most efficient transmitter of sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs) known to humanity. For obvious reasons, homophile strategists never state that the primary objective of the "gay rights" movement is to allow homosexuals to practice promiscuous sex without any legal or moral restraints whatsoever. If the "gay rights" movement attains its goal of public acceptance, many more people will be pulled into its deadly embrace, because it will appear to be harmless and acceptable. Even if there were no moral implications whatever connected to homosexual activities, as the "gay rights" agitators claim, we must continue to actively oppose the "gay agenda;" • We oppose heavy drinking because alcoholics lose an average of five years from their lives and are frequently a menace to other people's lives and health (for instance, thousands of people are killed by drunk drivers every year in the USA alone). • We discourage smoking because heavy smokers lose an average of seven years from their lives and are frequently a menace to other people's lives and health, as with "secondhand smoke." • We oppose the use of illegal drugs because drug addicts lose an average of ten years from their lives and are frequently a menace to other people's lives and health (for instance, thousands of people are killed or injured by the criminal activities of drug addicts every year). • We discourage obesity because extremely overweight individuals lose an average of twelve years from their lives and frequently severely impact the lives of others (for instance, thousands of overweight wage earners die of obesity-related causes such as heart disease every year, leaving their loved ones destitute or scrambling to survive). As Chapter 4 shows, active "gays" and lesbians lose an average of 25 to 30 years from their lifespans. We discourage heavy drinking, smoking, illegal drug use and obesity because they drastically shorten people's life spans and are a menace to society and other individuals. Why do we not oppose the "gay" lifestyle, which shortens life spans even more, and is a menace to society and other people? For one reason only: It is not politically correct to do so. The homosexual rights movement has made certain of that. To encourage, ignore, accept or even tolerate the homosexual lifestyle in any way is irresponsible and illogical from a public health standpoint. (2) The "Gay Rights" Movement is Predatory. The most pitiful victims of the "gay rights" pioneers are young and defenseless boys. There exist at least a half-dozen organized pedophile groups with international memberships, including the Paedophile International Exchange (PIE) and the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA). All of these groups lobby for the total elimination of age-of-consent laws so they can victimize children legally. Hundreds of thousands of young boys have been sexually molested by homosexual Protestant ministers, by homosexual public school teachers, by homosexual Boy Scout leaders, and by homosexual Catholic priests. Yet any attempt to make the connection between homosexuality and child sexual abuse is met with violence, hate and name-calling, not examination and discussion. And so, the children continue to suffer hideous abuse because of a purely political agenda. Chapter 5, "Homosexuality and Pedophilia," describes how these predators victimize hundreds of thousands of small children every year — and get away with it! (3) The "Gay Rights" Movement is Coercive. Members of the "gay rights" movement persistently lobby legislatures and sue for their own rights, but feel absolutely no regret as they relentlessly compel others to accept and even celebrate their deadly and immoral lifestyles. More than two hundred "gay rights" and "hate crimes" laws have been enacted at all levels in the United States. Those churches that sat on the sidelines and simply observed — in order to appear "tolerant" and "nonjudgmental" — are finding out to their shock that the laws that they refused to oppose are now being used as powerful weapons against them. They now realize that they should have opposed these laws earlier. They are now being forced to defend themselves when the laws are in place and they are at a much greater disadvantage. Many examples of coercion by organized homosexuals are listed in Chapter 4, "Tactics Used by Homosexual Activists." Governments are now forcing churches to hire and protect homosexuals, even if doing so violates their most cherished beliefs. Governments are forcing people to rent to homosexual "couples," even if the landlords can demonstrate that their religious beliefs are being violated. Homosexuals can commit almost any act of violence against "straights," but ridiculous "hate crime" bills ensure that any resistance to homosexual violence is instantly punished by the court system. And any resistance to the "gay rights" agenda results in blatant homosexual terrorism directed against individuals and organizations, as shown in Chapter 4. (4) The "Gay Rights" Movement Disregards the Rights of Others. As they complain that they are being oppressed, homosexual activists violently attack Christians, disrupt church services, and threaten that they may legitimately use any means to achieve their goals — even murder! Homosexuals have vowed to kill, maim, and murder in their quest for special rights, as described in Chapter 4. Any movement comprised of people who believe that they are exempt from all of the rules that govern the rest of us must be opposed as a matter of principle, because, if it gains power, it will be absolutely despotic. Every homosexual rights ordinance, law, or executive order passed in the United States and in Europe forces others to accept homosexuality under pain of severe punishment. Under "gay rights" laws, homosexuals are granted a superior legal standing. Colleges give preference to homosexuals in legal disputes, housing authorities usually side with homosexuals against "straights," and "hate crimes" can only be committed against homosexuals — but never by homosexuals. Finally, only "straights" may be subject to "sensitivity" (i.e., brainwashing) sessions — never homosexuals. Gay rights laws, by their very nature, are discriminatory and give one group legal protection that other groups do not enjoy. This protection is based solely on the preferred group's behavior. Such laws can only cause resentment and backlash and create a proliferation of case law that itself leads to judicial and legal logjams, conflicts, and confusion. (5) The "Gay Rights" Movement is Violent. When a government gives a group of people a false "permission" to engage in any kind of promiscuous sexual activity, such coddling eventually leads to a complete loss of self-discipline. This inability to control oneself naturally leads from sexual misconduct to total disregard for all of the ordinances of both God and man. Activist homosexuals as a class are the most violent group of individuals in the nation. They commit more than four times as many violent crimes in general than the rest of the population, as shown in Chapter 4. |
Incredibly, promiscuous homosexuals are more than 50 times more likely to meet a violent death than are other people, and the homosexual "lifestyle" has been shown to cost a person more than twenty years of life, also as described in Chapter 2. (6) Homosexual Behavior is Strongly Addictive. As described in Chapter 2, "Homosexual Orientation," homosexuals quickly become addicted to their promiscuous sexual lifestyle. By legitimizing and protecting such behavior, governments enable individuals to become more and more immersed in the homosexual lifestyle, to the lasting detriment of both themselves and society. Homosexuals also suffer from a rate of alcohol and drug abuse much greater than that of the normal population. (7) The "Gay Rights" Movement Degrades Society. For decades, homosexuals have been demanding the redefinition of the family to include same-sex marriages and, indeed, any number of persons of any sex. To elevate homosexual unions to the same status enjoyed by the family is to degrade and even ridicule the status of the traditional family. To place homosexual "marriages" on the same moral and financial footing as "traditional" marriages will adversely impact society in a profound manner, because when evil is officially placed on the same level as good, society in general actually loses the capability of distinguishing between good and evil. To be sure, so-called "traditional" marriage is in bad shape indeed, but the solution is fix it, not dilute its meaning. Homosexuals who justify marriage between two (or more) men and two (or more) women by pointing at the sad state of man-woman marriage are falling into a logical fallacy. This is like saying that a car's transmission is shot, its windshield is broken, it burns oil like a furnace, and its muffler fell off long ago, so let's fix it by slashing its tires! The implications of accepting homosexual "marriage" are obvious. Such acceptance will inevitably lead to a further degradation of the institution that has always been the foundation of every healthy society. Already, polygamists are demanding marriage rights — and, believe it or not, so-called "zoophiles" are insisting that they should be able to marry their pets! And why not, if two men or two women can get married to each other? (8) Homosexuals are Not a Minority. All minorities that have achieved protection under the law are defined by race, sex, and national origin — not by their sexual urges. To give a group special protection just because it acts differently from other groups is ridiculous on its face. Since laws operate on precedents, this will legally throw open the doors for any group committing a class of defined acts, no matter how dangerous, to claim civil rights protection. This type of legal end-run has already been tried by organized pedophiles like the Rene Guyon Society and the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA); by organized prostitutes under the banners of Cast Off Your Old Tired Ethics (COYOTE) and Johns and Call Girls United Against Repression (JACGUAR); and, of course, by pornographers, including the purveyors of "kiddie porn." (9) The "Gay Rights" Movement is Unnecessary. Chapter 4 demonstrates that, as a class, homosexuals earn more, travel more, are more highly educated, and own more material goods than any other subgroup of the general population. The "gay rights" movement does not really aim to free homosexuals from oppression, because they are already free — the objective of the movement is to give homosexuality and homosexual acts an exalted and special place in society, as described in Chapter 3. (10) The "Gay Rights" Movement is Opposed to the Will of God. The Metropolitan Community Church (formerly named the "Sodomy Church,") the Unitarian Universalists, and many other ultraliberal churches claim that homosexuality is compatible with a good spiritual Christian or Jewish life. However, both the Bible and the Talmud explicitly condemn homosexual acts. The Bible clearly condemns homosexuality as a "hateful thing," and uses Sodom and the sodomites as a standard of evil against which all sinful activities are compared. Anyone who says that Jesus and the Bible did not condemn homosexual activity is completely ignorant, self-deceiving — or just plain lying. As far as the Jewish faith is concerned, it is first and foremost based upon a body of Commandments that include the seven Noahide Laws and a total of 613 parochial commandments. These laws, just as our Constitution is intended to be, are interpreted (but not changed) by a vast body of rabbinic opinions and case law referred to as Halakhah (the Talmud), which is based upon divine revelation. The difference between the two sets of commandments is quite clear. The seven Noahide Laws are universal, in that they apply to everyone, Jew and Gentile. The Noahide Laws are as follows; • Thou shalt not engage in idol worship. • Thou shalt not blaspheme God. • Thou shalt not kill. • Thou shalt not engage in incestuous, adulterous, or homosexual relations, nor commit the act of rape. • Thou shalt not steal. • Thou shalt establish laws and courts of law to administer these laws. • Thou shalt not be cruel to animals. Although liberal Christians and Jews have warped their original faith teachings beyond recognition to suit their own purposes, those who faithfully adhere to the correct and original teachings will recognize that homosexual activity is one of the greatest evils in existence and must be fought. The homosexual rights movement categorically rejects any and all limitations on its behavior. It is virulently anti-Christian and rejects self-discipline, love of others, and even love of God. It is not an exaggeration to say that authentic Christianity and the "gay rights" agenda simply cannot coexist. Either one or the other must eventually go down to destruction. How to Recognize the Homophile's Rhetorical Traps. Introduction. When debating the "gay agenda," we are often caught up in and confused by a morass of indistinct terms such as "diversity," "perversity," "normal," and "unnatural." Nobody who opposes "gay rights" can hope to benefit from using these terms unless he assigns them very precise definitions. Otherwise, a homophile will resort to semantic tricks in an attempt to render homosexual acts morally equal to normal acts — a very effective tactic indeed. If the homophile can throw his thick blanket of confusion over the conversation, logic will inevitably suffocate and illogic will prevail by default. Remember that those who fight for truth try to make the debate clear — and those who want to cover up the truth by necessity must do all they can to obscure it. Therefore, we must avoid using such nebulous terms if we hope to keep the debate on a rational plane. We must focus instead upon the distinct and specific implications and effects of homosexuality — concrete concepts that listeners can get a handle on. Since homophiles use these "fuzzy" words frequently, we should be familiar with them and their effects. Are Homosexual Acts Perverse? The Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines "perversion" as "... an aberrant sexual practice, especially when habitual and preferred to normal coitus." The use of the word "perverse" can lead into a fruitless argument about heterosexual activities, some of which are certainly "perverse." Many heterosexuals participate in the perusal of hard-core pornography, rape, incest, sodomy, and even sado-masochism. However, the point that must be made here is precisely this: Perverse sexual activities are a defining characteristic of the homosexual lifestyle. They are not a defining characteristic of the normal heterosexual lifestyle. To a homophile, of course, no sexual act or orientation is "perverse" (except perhaps virginity), so the word loses its comparative function and becomes utterly useless. Are Homosexual Acts Unnatural? The Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines "unnatural" as "... not being in accordance with nature or consistent with a normal course of events." The most frequent sex-related activities that homosexuals participate in are certainly not natural. The anus was not designed for copulation; it was created for elimination. This is evidenced by the fact that the lower excretory tracts of the more promiscuous homosexuals invariably sustain severe damage because they are being subjected to stresses (brought on by sodomy and other acts) that they were not designed for. S&M (sado-masochism) is not natural. Healthy people do not enjoy pain and do not inflict it upon others. Only very disturbed individuals enjoy such activities. Virtually every other type of homosexual activity is also clearly unnatural. Some homosexual activists will try to refute this point by claiming that many male animals engage in homosexual activity in the wild. This is true, of course — but only when there is a prolonged absence of females. They also neglect to mention that female animals never engage in homosexual activity. This phenomenon occurs among human males, as well. In an environment where there is a prolonged absence of women, a very large percentage of men (in some cases, up to one-fourth of the sample population) will engage in sodomy and other activities normally associated with promiscuous homosexuals — but only as long as they have no access to women. Long-term prisoners will commit these acts out of a form of "sexual desperation," and will vehemently deny that they are homosexuals just because they engage in sodomy and other acts. Besides, the argument that animals sometimes going "gay" justifies similar human behavior is simply witless. Animals also practice incest, polygamy, murder, infanticide, cannibalism, euthanasia and nudism. Does this mean that humans should be able to practice these activities as well? Are Homosexual Acts Normal? In the above definitions of "perverse" and "unnatural," the word "normal" is pivotal. The Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary defines "abnormal" as "... deviating from the normal or average." Just as homosexual acts could be defined as "abnormal," so could picketing an abortion clinic — or opposing pornography or homosexuality, for that matter. In fact, there are far fewer people picketing abortion mills and actively opposing the "gay" agenda than there are promiscuous homosexuals so, by this definition, pro-lifers and anti-"gay rights" activists are more abnormal than the average homosexual! In general, the descriptive word "normal" is very nearly useless when discussing homosexuality. Are Homosexual Acts Unbiblical? This is another trap that "gay rights" activists often set for those who do not know the Bible as well as they should. All homophiles need do in answer to passages from the Revised Standard Version or the King James Version of the Bible is to produce their own version of the Bible. There are several "gay friendly" versions of the Holy Bible in use today, including, believe it or not, the "Gay Bible," which was written in 2000 by a homophile activist who apparently discovered that God has a second son who came to Earth in order to forgive the sins of fornication and sodomy. The "Gay Bible" is online at http://www.Gay-Bible.com. Homosexual Acts Are Unhealthy and Deadly. If a pro-family debater gets drawn into a discussion of whether or not homosexual acts are "unnatural," "normal," "perverse," or "unbiblical," he is falling prey to the homophile's desire to distract attention away from the subject of the debate. The pro-family debater should instead talk about how homosexual activity is unhealthy and addictive, because he has scientific literature to back up his case — not mere opinion, which is all the homophile really has.
